Ben Woodburn’s future is reportedly up in the air, and that should prompt Leeds United to ask about the youngster this month.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side are yet to get stuck into the market. But after losing both Samuel Saiz and Lewis Baker, it would perhaps be a risk to let the window close without signing another attacking midfield option.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are seemingly considering what their next move is with youngster Ben Woodburn, with Goal reporting that his loan spell at Sheffield United is set to come to an end.
Woodburn endured a difficult time at Bramall Lane, but Goal reports that the Reds continue to have extremely high hopes for the Wales international and may consider loaning him out elsewhere for the second-half of the season.
And given that he would tick both boxes for Leeds due to his ability to play out wide or just off the striker, the Whites should perhaps look at offering the 19-year-old the chance to prove a point to their promotion rivals.
Woodburn – who became Liverpool’s youngest ever goalscorer with a goal against Leeds in 2016 – has the potential to fill some of the gaps in Bielsa’s squad, and has the quality to make a real impact as the season edges towards the business end.
Presuming that Leeds do not have the largest budget this month, the Whites should seriously look to prove that Sheffield United made a costly mistake not giving Woodburn more game-time.
He could potentially be the kind of inspired signing that gives Leeds the wildcard they arguably need at this stage of the campaign.
