Leeds United are said to be interested in the Polish wide man.
According to sport.pl, Leeds United have had an initial £180,000 bid for Lech Poznan’s Kamil Jozwiak turned down, but should Whites fans be worried as the club target yet another winger, given their recent poor history in bringing such players to Elland Road?
There is an argument to be had that Leeds should be targeting proven Championship players, rather than spending yet more money on foreign imports who may or may not prove effective in English football. But there is also the sense that when it comes to wingers, the Whites rarely get it right.
Jordan Botaka failed to justify the initial hype while Hadi Sacko remains at Elland Road but may have made his one and only positive contribution this season in the EFL Cup clash against Burnley, with the Frenchman flattering to deceive both before and since.
Then there is Mo Barrow – set to join Edgar Cani and Granddi Ngoyi as one of the weirdest loan signings in Leeds history – who arrived with a decent reputation but quickly disappeared altogether.
Even this season’s initially exciting recruit Ezgjan Alioski has done little to impress since the first international break of the campaign and, of all Leeds wingers, only Stuart Dallas has done enough to justify a prolonged run in the starting XI.
Jozwiak could be different, after all not every winger can be tarred with the same brush, but one wonders why Leeds are even looking at yet another risky recruit when their faltering form has shone a light on that questionable philosophy.
