Leeds United missed out on Vegard Forren earlier this season, just as Aston Villa did, so perhaps the Whites should revive their interest and challenge Villa again.
Should Leeds renew their interest in Vegard Forren?
A report in the Argus back in March suggested that Leeds and Aston Villa had missed out on defender Vegard Forren with the Norwegian instead joining then promotion-chasing Brighton. But with the 29-year-old coming to the end of his contract with the Seagulls (via BBC Sport), perhaps the Whites should now take a page out of the Villans’ book.
Forren’s lack of action for Brighton surely means that it is highly unlikely that he will get a new deal at the Amex Stadium, especially as promotion should see their transfer funds receive a substantial boost, and it appears that Villa have wasted little time renewing their interest.

According to Eurosport Norway, Villa remain keen on signing the former Southampton man. And if he does indeed become a free agent this summer, Leeds should arguably also revive their interest.
Forren may not be a marquee addition to the Elland Road ranks by any means, but there is a clear lack of defensive options within the current squad, and with no new manager in place as of yet, it may perhaps be a while before the club become fully invested in the transfer market – though they have already brought Hadi Sacko back on a permanent deal.

The centre-back may not have enjoyed the best time in England, but he is still an international and is surely likely to be available on a free transfer unless Chris Hughton surprisingly decides to keep him around, so could perhaps prove to be an astute signing to provide cover in a position where Leeds desperately need additional options.
And with Forren probably being written off by many following his spells with the two south coast clubs, he will surely be determined to make an impact in England if a club takes a small gamble – if he does become a free agent – and hands him a chance this summer.
