Leeds United fans wanted Martin Braithwaite once upon a time, now he’s available.

Leeds United probably need another striker this season.

Kemar Roofe and Patrick Bamford are both fine options when fit, but the pair missed quite a lot of football last season through injury and if the same happens again, the Whites are in deep trouble.

Yep, a third option is essential and should Leeds ask about Middlesbrough hitman Martin Braithwaite?

According to Team Talk, Boro boss Jonathan Woodgate is dying to offload the Denmark international who cost £9 million two years ago [The Daily Mail].

But he hasn’t been a roaring success in the Championship and therefore the North-East side won’t be making their money back, though Leeds should ask about a loan.

The 28-year-old has already impressed Leeds supporters with his random knowledge of the club, after finding a peacock in his garden two years ago and asking the Whites on Twitter if they knew anything about it.

Obviously that doesn’t qualify him to play for Marcelo Bielsa’s side, but 40 goals and 15 assists in 150 games for Toulouse is something to think about [Transfermarkt] and, interestingly, Braithwaite, who can also play left-wing, is versatile and Bielsa likes players capable of adapting to different roles.

There isn’t much to lose for Leeds and a lot to potentially gain. Question is, would Boro even loan him to a Championship rival?
