Leeds United may want to consider targeting one of the Championship’s more exciting players from this past season.
Leeds’ season fell apart in the final weeks
When Leeds were drifting away from the top six in the final weeks of this past season, they were arguably crying out for another player who could create a little piece of magic almost out of nothing to give them the win or two they needed to keep their play-off hopes alive.
While the Whites had the likes of Kemar Roofe and Pablo Hernandez amongst the cluster of players available to play in the three that was often deployed just behind the striker, they undoubtedly needed that extra piece of creativity to ensure that they did not run out of steam in the manner they did.
So with that in mind, it may perhaps be wise for Thomas Christiansen to consider targeting Lucas Piazon following his impressive loan spell at Fulham this past season.
The Chelsea attacking midfielder will surely face as great an uphill battle trying to get into the first-team this coming season, so it would hardly be a surprise if he is on his way out of Stamford Bridge in some capacity this summer.
Piazon was extremely impressive during his loan spell with Fulham
The 23-year-old scored five times and contributed four assists for a Fulham side that reached the play-offs this past term, despite the fact that he arrived at Craven Cottage at the very end of the summer transfer window so had no pre-season to get used to his surroundings.
If Leeds act quickly and try and sign Piazon – who can play on either wing, or in a more central role – then perhaps he could build upon his experience in the Championship and give the side that additional bit of creativity that they appeared to be in desperate need of during the latter stages of this past season.
Piazon was previously on loan at Reading
