It should convince the Yorkshire giants to make a move for Hull City midfielder David Meyler, who is available on a free transfer after his contract at the KCOM Stadium is set to expire at the end of this month.
The 28-year-old has proven once again just how influential he can be both on and off the pitch, playing a crucial role in helping the Tigers steer clear of relegation by scoring five goals from defensive midfield.
With a ratio of one goal in every five Championship outings, Meyler would provide Leeds with an added attacking dimension but the gritty, tough-tackling style of play that will strike fear into second-tier opponents.
The 25-time international has huge experience in England’s second division, making 79 appearances and that kind of proven quality is just what Leeds need if they are to gain promotion back to the Premier League.
