Steven Gerrard’s Glasgow Rangers reportedly want Jack Marriott at Ibrox, while Celtic and Leeds United have also been linked, but the Peterborough United striker is claimed to want a move to Nottingham Forest.

Steven Gerrard’s Glasgow Rangers, Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic, Leeds United and Nottingham Forest are just a handful of clubs linked with Peterborough United striker Jack Marriott in the summer transfer window.
According to The Sun, Leeds, Sheffield Wednesday, Forest, Crystal Palace and Aston Villa all are interested in Marriott, who is reportedly valued at £6.5 million.
The Scottish Sun has credited Old Firm duo Celtic and Rangers with interest in the 23-year-old striker, who scored 27 goals and provided five assists in League One for Peterborough this past season.
However, it seems that Leeds, Celtic, Rangers and Wednesday may not be able to convince Marriott, who wants to join Forest.

Peterborough Director of football Barry Fry is quoted as saying by The Bristol Post: “Jack [Marriott] does want to join Nottingham Forest.”
Fry added: “Forest say they are keen on Jack, but they have made no offer yet despite their manager being very friendly with our manager. They talk all the time and Jack is a regular subject.”

No hope?
From Fry’s comments, it seems that Marriott wants to join Forest, who would be wise to make an offer soon in order to sign the striker in order to secure his services nice and early in the summer transfer window.
With the former Ipswich Town striker clearly favouring the Reds, what chance have Leeds, Celtic and Rangers got? Perhaps they should move on and focus on other summer transfer targets.
