Leeds United are already keen on Hearts midfielder Harry Cochrane and perhaps his teammate should now come onto their radar.

Despite only being born in 2001 – on the day Leeds beat Deportivo La Coruna 3-0 in the Champions League quarter-final – Cochrane has already established himself as an important player for the Scottish Premiership side, making seven top flight appearances to date.

And in Hearts’ clash with Dundee on Tuesday night, he was joined in the squad by another 16-year-old, who undoubtedly made a massive impression in the game.
Anthony McDonald – who is slightly older than Cochrane, having been born just a few days after Leeds drew 3-3 with Lazio at Elland Road – made his first-team debut against Neil McCann’s side, and played a crucial role in the 2-0 win, contributing the assist for the first goal and having a hand in the second.

It may only be one appearance, but given the contribution he made, it would certainly be no surprise if he gets to add to that appearance tally in the very near future.
And if Leeds continue to have a look at Cochrane, they should undoubtedly also look at how McDonald is progressing as the very early signs certainly suggest that he could be one for the future, and not taking an immediate look may be a mistake as it seems only a matter of time before clubs start to sit up and take notice.
