The Barcelona star could be a useful addition to the Liverpool squad this summer.
Reds boss Jürgen Klopp will be desperate to add more guile to his forward options this summer, in an attempt to bring more variety to his side’s attacking play this season.
Whilst Liverpool were mightily impressive in the final third last term, they had the tendency to be slightly one-dimensional and became too predictable to play against.
Wit this in mind, the German should consider signing a smaller, more technically gifted striker this summer, and an interesting option for them could be Barcelona forward Paco Alcacer.
The 23-year-old made the move to the Nou Camp from Valencia in the summer of 2016, but has struggled to establish himself in the first team. It is little wonder though, considering the attacking talent on display at Barca.
Paco Alcacer in action for Barcelona
The Spaniard still has the ability to be a success at the very highest level though, and given the opportunity of regular action under Klopp at Anfield, he might just realise his true potential.
He is exceptionally gifted with the ball at his feet, and possesses superb vision. He also has the knack of finding space in compact areas – an attribute that could be a huge asset to Liverpool both domestically and abroad this season.
The former Valencia man could form part of an incredibly quick and technical front-line for the Reds. The prospect of him interchanging with the likes of Roberto Firmino, Philippe Coutinho and Sadio Mane is something that will surely excite the Anfield faithful.
He is still under contract with the La Liga giants for another four years, however, so he won’t come cheap, but the Merseyside outfit are not short of cash by any means.
And if Klopp does in fact bring Alcacer to Liverpool this summer, it could turn out to be a real coup for the Reds, irrelevant of the amount of money needed to prise him away form the Nou Camp.
