Crystal Palace fans have taken to Twitter to react after Everton announced the appointment of Rafa Benitez on a three-year contract.

In that respect, Crystal Palace, Tottenham and Everton have had a lot in common this summer, as all three struggle to hire managers.

There were so many names involved in the hunt for Roy Hodgson’s replacement.

Steve Cooper, Sean Dyche, Frank Lampard, Lucien Favre, Nuno, Valérien Ismaël, Javi Gracia and Marco Silva were all linked with the vacancy.

Strangely, Benitez was never mentioned.

Now, you might claim that’s because he’s too ambitious a target to pursue.

Nevertheless, let’s see what the Crystal Palace fans on Twitter have been saying about Everton hiring Benitez…
