Leeds and Middlesbrough have reportedly shown interest in Aston Villa’s Albert Adomah, but should Huddersfield give him a chance in the Premier League?
As the transfer deadline moves towards its inevitable conclusion at 5pm tonight (August 9) the future of Albert Adomah as an Aston Villa player remains in doubt.
Both Leeds United and Middlesbrough have clocked onto this uncertainty and are considering making a move for the 30-year-old – who enjoyed his best ever season for goals in 2017/18, netting 15 times to confirm is place as the Villans’ top scorer.
Adomah had hoped this form would see him given a new deal, with his current one expiring in 2020, but despite a takeover at the club this was not forthcoming.
What about Premier League sides?
The Ghana international has played the majority of his career in the Championship, with only two top flight appearances to his name in England.
Therefore for a side from the division to sign Adomah would be a gamble, but then the forward does seem to be enjoying the best form of his career and looked ready to make the step up with Villa last term – before they lost in the playoff final to Fulham.
Yet if that does not come to fruition, perhaps they should consider giving Adomah one final chance in the top tier of English football as manager David Wagner looks to improve the goalscoring exploits of his team.
