Chelsea fans are saying that Fikayo Tomori should have joined West Ham United after all.

Tomori said to the Mike’d Up podcast that he rejected the opportunity to join West Ham in the summer as he wanted to stay and fight for a place at Stamford Bridge.

However, his decision has not been vindicated so far, as he seems a long way down the pecking order with Frank Lampard’s side.

Tomori was left on Chelsea’s bench yesterday, with Antonio Rudiger favoured to start over him.

And many Blues fans suggest that Tomori definitely should have joined West Ham now.

If Tomori had gone to West Ham he could well have been starting regularly by now.

The Hammers have made a bright start to the season, but it was clear to see that David Moyes was keen to bring in a central defender over the summer.

West Ham tried for numerous defensive options in the previous transfer window, but failed to get a deal over the line for any of them.

It now remains to be seen whether West Ham will return and try to sign Tomori in January, when he could be more keen to make the switch.
