Aston Villa are set to sign West Ham United goalkeeper, Darren Randolph, on loan until the end of the season, according to Alex Crook.
The talkSPORT reporter claimed that a deal for the West Ham player to join Villa ‘should go through soon’.
It seems as though if Randolph does sign, then he will come in as back-up to Villa’s number one and undisputed king, Emiliano Martinez.
Randolph is seemingly third-choice at the London Stadium and it seems as though he will upgrade to becoming a number two in B6.
The 34-year-old has vast amounts of experience under his belt having been a regular Republic of Ireland international, as well as playing for bitter rivals, Birmingham City.
Nonetheless, this is what talkSPORT reporter, Crook, had to say about Randolph closing in on a move to the Midlands.
“Whilst we are talking about Aston Villa,” said Crook. “One to watch out for, Darren Randolph signing on-loan from West Ham for the rest of the season.
“That should go through soon. And he will be back-up to Emi Martinez, so Villa doing business this window.”

If Randolph does join, then that probably means Jed Steer will be demoted further down the pecking order.
It needs to be remembered that the Englishman played a huge part in Villa earning promotion to the Premier League and is probably unlucky not to be number two.
Steer was the hero in the play-off semi-finals when Villa knocked West Brom out of the race to return to the Premier League via a penalty shootout.
But, since Villa returned to the promised land, Steer has seen the likes of Tom Heaton and Martinez play ahead of him, whilst the likes of Orjan Nyland and Pepe Reina also played ahead of him when he was out injured.
