The Swansea City man is a key transfer target for Everton.
News broke today regarding the Toffees’ pursuit of Swans star Gylfi Sigurdsson, with BBC Sport suggesting that the Welsh side now value the Iceland international at £50 million.
Whilst the 27-year-old is undoubtedly talented, the fee being quoted does seem to be rather extortionate, and whether Ronald Koeman will part with that kind of cash is debatable.

Perhaps a more sensible proposition for both sides, would be a cash plus player deal, involving Ross Barkley heading in the opposite direction to Sigurdsson.
The 23-year-old England international is valued between £25 million and £30 million by the Blues, according to the Mirror, so maybe Swansea could be tempted by the offer of his services as well as a cash sum of around £20 million.
Barkley would be a like-for-like replacement for Sigurdsson, and many would argue that the Swans would be getting by far the better deal out of the two clubs.
One potential stumbling block to what seemingly seems like an ideal outcome for all parties concerned will be whether the 23-year-old can be tempted to join a club who are renowned for perennially battling relegation.
If Paul Clement can convince him of his club’s ambition though, and Barkley makes the move to the Liberty Stadium, with the 50-capped Iceland international heading the other way, both Swansea and Everton could reap huge benefits, as well as the two players involved in the deal.
