Manchester United are rumoured to be interested in Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale – could Everton use the move to secure Marcus Rashford?

Gareth Bale surprised everyone with his candidness after scoring twice for Real Madrid in the Champions League final victory over Liverpool.
The Welshman openly talked about leaving the club before he’d even left the pitch in Kiev, immediately sparking discussion over his potential move.

“I need to be playing week in week out, and that’s not happened this season for one reason or another,” said Bale. “I had a five- or six-week injury at the start of the season and I’ve been fit ever since so now I have to sit down in the summer and discuss it with my agent and take it from there.”
Manchester United are expected to make a move and, if they do, it would see Bale lineup alongside Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku in their attack next season. But does that leave room for Marcus Rashford?

Things are already too crowded and as a result, Anthony Martial already looks likely to leave the club, with Tottenham Hotspur preparing to open talks. A new superstar coming in would surely limit the already depleting development time for Rashford and while United would surely only sanction a loan, a move elsewhere could be on the cards.
That move should possibly be to Everton, a team in need of a bit more dynamism up top.
Rashford, with his pace and direct style, would fit in nicely on the left flank or as an alternative to Cenk Tosun at striker, easily giving Everton the extra dynamic that fans have wanted.

Although those fans are unlikely to be happy with the idea of developing someone else’s player, reports that Everton are needing to offload 12 players this summer would suggest that a little patience will be needed before the squad gets to where it needs to be.
Rashford would be a fantastic stop-gap, and may be more, able to help Everton in what is likely to be a transitional season for little money.
And who knows – if opportunities stay limited at United, showing a wonderfully gifted player what he could have at Everton might open up something more in the long-term.
