Everton have reportedly made Thomas Tuchel their number one target as they look to replace Ronald Koeman.

According to a report from the Daily Mirror, Everton have earmarked former Borussia Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel as the man they want to replace Ronald Koeman at Goodison Park after parting company with the Dutchman on Monday.

Tuchel did an impressive job during his time at Westfalenstadion, and it perhaps would not be a big surprise if he considered players from his former club if he was offered the Toffees job and did end up taking the hot-seat at Goodison Park.

One player who should perhaps be on his radar if he does look to Dortmund is a midfielder who has endured a difficult time since joining the club but also has unfinished business in the Premier League.

Andre Schurrle has struggled for game-time since moving to Dortmund, but previously impressed during his brief spell at Chelsea and looked good during his time at Wolfsburg before signing for Tuchel in 2016.

He arguably did not get a fair chance at Stamford Bridge, making just 20 Premier League starts for the Blues, but still managing to score 11 goals in 44 top flight appearances in total.

Given how he has struggled at Dortmund, it would not be a surprise if the Bundesliga side were willing to accept a very reasonable fee for the World Cup winner if a club made a move in January.

And with Everton arguably needing players who can be deployed in wide areas and cause problems for full-backs, perhaps Tuchel – if he ends up taking the job – should take a gamble on Schurrle in the hope that he can get the very best out of a player who he saw something in back in 2016.
