Everton are looking to fill a right-back spot so should they look to prove their ambition by looking at Serge Aurier?

The injury to Seamus Coleman at Everton came at a terrible time, missing the end to the campaign and putting him out for at least half of next season.

The Toffees are showing the Irishman their full support, but it would be naive of them to simply assume Coleman gets back to his best right away.

He will be 29 by time he returns, and Everton might want to consider signing a long term replacement, as tough as that would be on the defender.

One ambitious candidate the club could consider is Paris Saint-Germain defender Serge Aurier, whose future at the club is the subject of ongoing speculation.

Talksport, citing France Football, report that Premier League sides Manchester City, Liverpool and Manchester United are all interested.

Of the trio, only City have a pressing need for a new right-back, and Everton should weigh up making an ambitious move for the Ivory Coast international.

The 24-year-old has made more than 150 appearances in France’s Ligue 1, with 18 of those coming so far this season.

Aurier has Champions League and World Cup experience, and has the profile to help mark Everton out as a team others need to be wary of in the transfer market.

Like Coleman, Aurier likes to get forward and join the attack, strong in the air, and is more than capable defensively. Convincing him to leave PSG could be tough but with him reported stalling on a new contract, now could represent a window for the Toffees to try.
