Everton have been struggling to meet expectations so far this season and Ronald Koeman is a man under pressure.

Southampton manager Ronald Koeman gives instructions during the Barclays Premier League match between Hull City and Southampton at the KC Stadium on November 1, 2014 in Hull, England.

The Toffees have struggled for form and consistency at home and in Europe this season with Koeman’s unprecedented summer spending leading to increased expectations at Goodison Park.

The Dutchman was desperate to land another striker to help contend with the loss of Romelu Lukaku in the summer but has instead been forced to bring outcast Oumar Niasse in from the cold.

Many fans and pundits feel Koeman deserves more time to get the best out of his expensively assembled side.

But others are not so sure, with a section of Blues fans calling for his head after Sunday’s 1-0 defeat to Burnley.

With his future uncertain should Everton rival West Ham in the reported pursuit of former Chelsea and Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti?

Head coach Carlo Ancelotti of FC Bayern Muenchen attends the Audi Cup 2017 Press Conference at Westin Grand Hotel on July 31, 2017 in Munich, Germany.

The Italian was sacked by German giants Bayern Munich last week and has made no secret of his desire to manage in England again having enjoyed his time in London.

With Everton now enjoying the kind of financial backing Ancelotti is accustomed to after a career managing Europe’s top clubs, should they take the chance to lure him to Merseyside before someone else snaps him up.

Ancelotti will inevitably be in demand, as would Koeman should he leave the Toffees, and it is not inconceivable that the Dutchman could end up replacing the Italian in Germany.

West Ham have registered an interest in the ex Paris St Germain boss according to The Daily Mail.

Like Koeman, Slaven Bilic has been under pressure after a disappointing season last term where the club flirted with relegation albeit finishing in the relative comfort of 11th place in a tightly compacted Premier League.

The Hammers’ have endured a torrid start to the new season too, winning just two of their first seven games and it could be a shootout between the two clubs if they are seriously considering a change.
