Southampton are reportedly keen on signing Paco Alcacer but should Everton revive their interest as an alternative to Sporting’s Bas Dost?

Dost may terminate his contract with the Primeira Liga club, which has two years left to run, after being one of the players attacked by intruders at the training ground in May.

The two Premier League sides are reportedly at the front of the queue to sign a forward who has scored an impressive 70 goals in 90 appearances since arriving in Portugal from Wolfsburg two years ago.
Other options for the Toffees
With Dost boasting such an impressive record his current team are understandably keen not to lose the 29-year-old, particularly on a free transfer, and will sit down for talks with the Dutchman about his future.
If Everton do miss out on the attacker then perhaps they should instead revive their January interest in Barcelona star Paco Alcacer – as reported at the time by the Daily Mail.

Alcacer is once again being linked with an exit from the Camp Nou having grown frustrated with a lack of first team opportunities and the Mirror says Southampton are showing interest in the Spain international.
Should the Merseysiders rival the Saints for his signature?
