Everton and Wolves are reportedly interested in Miguel Veloso but should they look at another free agent in Claudio Marchisio?

Miguel Veloso of Genoa CFC looks on during the serie A match between Genoa CFC and Udinese Calcio at Stadio Luigi Ferraris on January 28, 2018 in Genoa, Italy.

Both Everton and Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in signing free agent Miguel Veloso, according to TEAMtalk.

Veloso is available on a free transfer after leaving Genoa earlier this month and both Nuno Espirito Santo and Marco Silva know the midfielder well and would like to add him to their respective squads.

Of course at least one of the managers is going to be left disappointed in the pursuit of the 32-year-old, but there could be a similar alternative they should consider if that is the case.

What about Marchisio?

Like Veloso, Claudio Marchisio is available as a free agent having had his contract with Juventus terminated and the Italian is currently looking for a new club.

Also aged 32, Marchisio would bring a wealth of experience to either the Toffees or Wolves having won seven Scudettos, among other major trophies, during his 13 years in the Juve first team.

The Italy international doesn’t have any experience away from his home country having spent the majority of his career – apart from a year on loan at Empoli – with the Old Lady.

That said, with 55 senior international caps to also add to his impressive CV, Marchisio would potentially be a real asset at either Goodison Park or Molineux.
