Newcastle United and Everton are reportedly both interested in signing Hull City forward Jarrod Bowen this month.

According to a report from page seven of The Sun’s Goals section (print edition; 28th January 2018), Newcastle and Everton are both interested in signing £10 million-rated Jarrod Bowen, but Nigel Adkins has insisted that the Hull ace will not be sold this month.

Based on how Bowen has got on this season, it appears inevitable that the 21-year-old is Premier League bound at some stage in the future. And for that reason, the Toffees and the Magpies may perhaps feel that it would be a good idea to do all they can to twist Hull’s arm before Wednesday’s deadline.

If they wait until the summer, his value may have risen further and the interest in him may have intensified so moving this month makes all the sense in the world.

So perhaps Everton and Newcastle should make a bid this week that would see Bowen return on loan to the KCOM Stadium for the rest of the season as that would seemingly suit all parties involved.

For either Sam Allardyce or Rafa Benitez, they would be signing one of the brightest prospects in the Championship and they would not have to worry about giving him first-team football in the Premier League before he is ready – which, despite his 11 league goals this term, would surely be the case if he joined this month.

Meanwhile, Hull may perhaps be more willing to do a deal as their transfer kitty may receive a late boost, and they will still have Bowen in their ranks as they try and stave off relegation from the second tier, which will surely be one of Adkins’ main concerns regarding potentially losing him this month.

Everton and Newcastle may currently sense that they will not be able to land Bowen this month without breaking the bank given Adkins’ stance, so perhaps offering to loan the youngster back for the rest of the season may be the ideal way to make the move work and for one of the Premier League pair to potentially pull off a coup.
