With Everton needing a winger, why don’t they throw hat in the ring for the Crystal Palace star?

Wilfried Zaha of Palace is challenged by Oxford defender Rob Dickieat Kassam Stadium on July 21, 2018 in Oxford, England.

The Echo claimed this past weekend that, contrary to speculation, Bertrand Traore will NOT be joining Everton this summer.

It’s a big shame because, well, Traore is a very big player and one who the Toffees need on the wing, but a move for the Lyon star won’t be happening it seems.

It’s time to explore other options and should Everton throw their hat in the ring for Wilfried Zaha?

The Crystal Palace star is linked to Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur this summer but if Marco Silva is serious about breaking into the top four next season then this is a player he should consider.

According to The Daily Mail, Zaha, who favours a move to the Gunners at this moment in time, would cost some £70 million and although that would require the Goodison Park club to smash their transfer record, they do have a trump card to lower the price.

Yannick Bolasie plays in the same position as Zaha and, better yet, he knows Palace very well, having spent four years there until 2016.

Silva should float the idea of a player-plus-cash deal for Zaha, with Bolasie used as a makeweight to lower the £70 million fee.

This is a player who Everton fans would love on Merseyside. Traore would have cost upwards of £50 million, so why not offer the same for Zaha and throw the DR Congo star into the mix too?
