Everton are lacking in a prolific striker, with Cenk Tosun struggling up top.

West Ham United could be about to sell Javier Hernandez in the January transfer window after recent comments from the Mexican suggest he is open to leaving the east London club next month – and Everton should be on red alert.
The 30-year-old striker has struggled at the London Stadium since his £16million (West Ham website) move from German outfit Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2017. He has scored 12 goals in 44 league and cup appearances.
The 106-time Mexico international scored a brace for West Ham away at Newcastle United on Saturday afternoon in a 3-0 win, showing Hammers fans and indeed the rest of the Premier League he still has what it takes to shine.
But his comments prior to the match on Saturday, in an interview with Spanish newspaper Marca, suggested he is open to leaving the club in January: “I am not closing the door on moving this winter.”
Though he has been linked with moves to Spain and the MLS, Hernandez is a proven Premier League goalscorer. With 48 goals in 140 outings, he has a ratio of around one goal every three games – with 72 of those outings from the bench.
As his future is in doubt, Everton surely have to consider a move to land the pocket-sized striker, as they continue to struggle up front. Richarlison has been used as a makeshift striker of late, with his natural position being out wide.

Cenk Tosun has struggled since his move from Besiktas last January, while Oumar Niasse has been frozen out by Marco Silva. Dom Calvert-Lewin has been used as a bit-part player, mainly from the bench.
Landing a goalscorer like Hernandez, for what is likely to be a cut-price deal and a figure much less than the £16million West Ham bought him for, would give Everton the fire power they need to continue their assault on the top six.
