Everton would benefit from signing the Swansea City defender.

With the January transfer window set to open there is much speculation regarding which players could be on the move.
West Ham United, for instance, are targeting Swansea City defender Alfie Mawson, as reported by The Telegraph.
Although Swansea have struggled this season, Mawson has still impressed at times and it is of little surprise that he is being linked with a move away from the club.
Everton, another side that have had defensive struggles this season, should perhaps also be looking at Mawson as a possible option in January.

It is evident that Everton have become more resilient at the back following the appointment of Sam Allardyce as manager, but the club would certainly still benefit from bringing in Mawson.
Mason Holgate is very talented yet Mawson is slightly more developed, while Michael Keane has struggled to make much of an impact since joining Everton from Burnley and Phil Jagielka is in the latter stages of his career.

Mawson could be an excellent partner for Ashley Williams at the heart of the Everton defence, and, under the guidance of Allardyce, the 23-year-old would surely improve even further.
If it is possible for Everton to secure a deal for Mawson in January then they should certainly consider it given the quality that he possesses.
