Wolves are reprotedly interested in Stoke midfielder Joe Allen but should Everton compete with them for the former Liverpool man?

Joe Allen is one of 12 senior players set to leave Stoke City this summer, according to the Sun, if, as expected, they are relegated from the Premier League.
The Potteries are currently 19th in the top flight of English football and three points from safety with only two matches left to play.

Despite Stoke’s struggles Allen has impressed once again this term and already promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers have been linked with a £20m move for the Welshman – also by the Sun.
Who else should be interested?
Everton are in the market for a new player in the middle of the park, with football.london reporting of their interest in soon to be out-of-contract Arsenal star Jack Wilshere.

However, could Allen be a good option for the Toffees with his ability to be an attacking threat from midfield and experience in the division?
There is of course the 28-year-old’s connections with their rivals Liverpool, with the Wales international spending four years at Anfield between 2012 and 2016.
