Should Everton show faith in Ademola Lookman amid reports of rejecting Leipzig advances by starting him against Huddersfield?

(EXCLUSIVE COVERAGE) Ademola Lookman in action during the Everton training session at USM Finch Farm on August 2, 2018 in Halewood, England.

Everton do not want to allow Ademola Lookman to leave on deadline day despite RB Leipzig making it known they are willing to pay £25m for the winger, reports the Liverpool Echo.

Leipzig have shown great interest in Lookman all summer after the 20-year-old impressed on loan at the Bundesliga outfit in the latter half of last season.

They initially had a £12m offer rejected in July and have made several serious enquiries about signing the England Under-21 international since, but Toffees manager Marco Silva has called the youngster the “present and future” of the club.

Time to start showing it?

Despite the faith shown in Lookman by Silva and director of football Marcel Brands, the attacker is yet to make an appearance for the Merseyside club this term.

So with Richarlison suspended for two more matches following his red card against Bournemouth, is this weekend’s Premier League clash with Huddersfield Town – assuming Lookman hasn’t been sold – the perfect time to back up the claim?

The one stumbling block could be that the Englishman Is struggling with a groin injury currently, but if fit Silva could really show his faith in the starlet by starting him against the Terriers in front of the Goodison Park faithful.
