With Everton (via The Sun) and West Ham (via The Sun) both reportedly wanting to bolster their attacking options this summer, a recent report from the Daily Mirror should perhaps be of interest to the Premier League pair.

According to the Mirror, Fenerbahce striker Robin van Persie is set to leave at the end of the season. And while he may not be a marquee addition, there is no denying that he could do a job for either the Hammers or the Toffees if he is available.

The 33-year-old has scored 144 Premier League goals during his career following spells with both Arsenal and Manchester United before his move to Turkey.

And despite his advancing years, he boasts a strike-rate of slightly better than a goal of every two games during his time with Fener.

Of course, West Ham or Everton making a move would be a gamble given his lack of game-time this season, and his injury record in the past, but if they could land him at a low price he may prove to be a bargain addition.

The Hammers, in particular, could perhaps do with targeting the Dutchman, given that their strikers have largely failed to impress this season, and having a natural finisher in their ranks could be a very smart signing indeed.

Meanwhile, van Persie may relish the chance to work with his countryman Ronald Koeman at Goodison Park, especially as the Toffees boss was full of praise for the striker a few years ago (via Express).

And if they could keep Romelu Lukaku beyond this summer, then perhaps van Persie may be an ideal short-term option to provide some cover.
