Celtic are reportedly interested in signing Glen Kamara in the summer after his impressive season with their Scottish Premiership rivals.

Eboue Kouassi of Celtic arrives at the stadium prior to the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match between Celtic and Rangers at Celtic Park on March 12, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Celtic fans would certainly be forgiven for somewhat forgetting all about Eboue Kouassi at the moment with Scott Brown in such brilliant form and the youngster not featuring for the Hoops since Brendan Rodgers’ men were beaten in their Europa League tie with Zenit back in February.

Kouassi moved to Celtic for £3 million back in January 2017 – fee reported by The Scottish Sun – but has never quite been able to establish himself in the side, making just 17 appearances in all competitions, including just six starts in the Scottish Premiership.

Celtic's head coach Brendan Rodgers talks during a press conference in Brussels on September 26, 2017 on the eve of the Champions League group B) football match against RSC Anderlecht.

He could hardly expect more opportunities either. Brown has arguably been as good as he has ever been in the middle of the park, and he is within touching distance of leading the club to yet another Treble.

But, while the 20-year-old may have few qualms about being Brown’s backup, he may have a few more questions about his future if Celtic end up signing Glen Kamara from Dundee at the end of the season.

The Sun reported earlier this week that the Bhoys are looking to rival Rangers and Swansea to sign the 22-year-old after his excellent season following his departure from Arsenal.

If Kamara comes in in the summer, Kouassi could perhaps find himself even further down the pecking order and his game-time even more limited next season, and that may tempt the youngster to ask some questions of Rodgers regarding whether he still sees him as Brown’s future successor or whether he may be better off asking for some kind of move away in the coming months.
