Dundee manager Neil McCann is convinced that Jack Hendry won’t be leaving for Scottish Premiership champions Celtic in the January transfer window.

Celtic might have completed the much-needed signing of a new centre-back this week with Marvin Compper arriving from Bundesliga giants RB Leipzig.
But, according to the BBC, the German might not be the only new defender at Parkhead in January with Brendan Rodgers keen to add another to his ranks.
Dedryck Boyata will enter the final year of his contract in the summer while Erik Sviatchenko is expected to leave in the New Year – leaving a gap in Celtic’s squad for a new player to take the Danish defender’s place.

Whether this proves to be Jack Hendry, the highly-rated 22-year-old earning rave reviews at Dundee, remains to be seen.
The former Wigan Athletic centre-back was expected to follow fellow youngster Lewis Morgan to Parkhead in January – but Dundee boss Neil McCann has poured cold water on the speculation by telling The Courier that he does not expect Hendry to go anywhere in January.

Though Celtic are unlikely to give up that easily. It’s not often the Scottish champions miss out on one of their top targets and, while Hendry has been advised by Dundee fans and former players to stay for now, even the most ardent supporter would understand if he was intrigued by the prospect of working under Rodgers at Parkhead.
And reports that Celtic will make a second centre-back signing a priority in January suggest that McCann has a big challenge on his hands attempting to keep his young star out of The Hoops’ clutches.
