The Wigan Athletic striker could be available on the cheap if the club are relegated. Should Derby County and Wolverhampton Wanderers be tempted?

There were many that thought, as the January transfer window slammed shut, that Wigan Athletic had pulled off the coup of the month when they brought in Grimbsy Town striker Omar Bogle, who had scored 19 league goals for Grimbsy Town.
And despite joining a struggling Wigan side, the striker has continued to impress when given the chance, scoring three goals in his 11 appearances in a blue and white shirt. So, with Wigan looking like potential candidates for relegation, might certain clubs be wise to keep an eye on the former Grimsby Town forward?
In January, Championship outfit Derby County were linked with a move for Omar Bogle by the Derby Telegraph, before Wigan moved in to sign the striker. A natural goalscorer, who specialises in playing up-top by himself, the link made sense at the time under Steve McClaren.
A move now however, under Gary Rowett, could well make even more sense. The striker can operate in the Rams new 4-2-3-1 system, but also has the pace and power to run the channels; a role which David Nugent is currently executing brilliantly.
Potentially available on the cheap, Omar Bogle could well be the perfect striker for the Rams next season. However, the striker may well have to compete with returning favourite Chris Martin, who has been on loan for the season at Fulham.

Another club who are arguably in need of a striker next season are Wolverhampton Wanderers. Paul Lambert’s side has struggled for goals this season, and have suffered due to injuries to key players like Nouha Dicko.
After what has been a poor season, Wolverhampton Wanderers fans will be desperate to see their side kick on in the next campaign. As one of the biggest clubs in the Championship, Wolves should be aiming for play-offs and promotion, not battling against relegation.
