Celtic have been linked with a loan bid for Liverpool winger Ryan Kent, but the Reds may well turn their offer down.

According to a report from The Sun on Sunday (print edition; June 11th 2017; pg. 59), Celtic are interested in signing Liverpool winger Ryan Kent on a season-long loan this summer.

The Sun on Sunday reports that the Reds are potentially reluctant to allow Kent to move away during the coming months as they may want to hand him more of a chance in the first-team following his bright loan spells with Coventry and Barnsley over the past couple of years.

Should that prove to be the case and Liverpool do decide to keep Kent on Merseyside during this coming season, Brendan Rodgers should perhaps consider turning his attention to a fellow Red who has just made something of a name for himself on the world stage.

Like Kent, Sheyi Ojo was one of the brighter prospects coming through at Anfield during current Hoops boss Rodgers’ tenure as manager, so his bright performances in England’s triumphant under-20 World Cup-winning campaign may come as little surprise.

Ojo demonstrated his blistering pace and tremendous amount of skill during the tournament, and those kind of attributes would surely be welcome at Celtic as they prepare for their Champions League qualifiers this summer, while also gearing up to try and replicate the dominant domestic season they enjoyed this past year, clinching the treble.

The 19-year-old may still be some way short of being the finished article, but he demonstrated during the World Cup that he has an enormous amount of potential and could certainly play a role for the Scottish Premiership champions if they decided to target him if Kent’s potential switch is blocked by Liverpool.
