Ismaila Sarr is arguably one of the brightest prospects coming through in Ligue 1, so perhaps Celtic should consider a move.
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers
After such a brilliant first season, Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is probably feeling that he will not need to make too many signings this summer, but there is perhaps one player that the Hoops may have to replace.
Patrick Roberts’ loan deal expires at the end of the season. And while Celtic would surely be interested in seeking an extension, it would hardly be a surprise if his parent club Manchester City felt that he could have more of a role to play at the Etihad Stadium next season.
If that proves to be the case, the Hoops should perhaps continue their recent strategy of targeting relatively-unknown prospects who appear to have all the attributes required to become very special players in the future as they try to replace him.
Ismaila Sarr is arguably one of the brightest talents currently coming through in Ligue 1, and would undoubtedly be a tremendous signing for the Hoops.
Ismaila Sarr
The 19-year-old currently plays for Metz, for whom he has scored four league goals. Though his statistics do not jump off the page, his dribbling ability in particular would create plenty of excitement at Parkhead if they could pull off a deal.
He perhaps best demonstrated how much potential he boasts with a stunning solo goal in the win over Nancy at the weekend, where he ran, starting from inside his own half, powerfully through the opposition defence before unleashing a drive into the net.
But with his full potential still some way from being realised, Celtic may perhaps be able to pull off yet another transfer coup, just as they have with the likes of Moussa Dembele and Eboue Kouassi recently, and land the kind of talent that would make losing Roberts this summer much easier to cope with.
