Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers tried to sign Ryan Bennett from Norwich City last summer.
Ryan Bennett has been made available on a free transfer by Norwich City (Eastern Daily Press), just a year after Celtic’s interest in him was revealed by HITC.
The centre-back has endured a difficult season at Norwich, which has seen the East Anglian side decide against offering him fresh terms.
Bennett has not been in top form recently, but Brendan Rodgers is a known admirer.

Rodgers tried to sign Bennett from Peterborough United, while he was Swansea City manager (BBC Sport).
And the Northern Irish boss could be tempted, with Bennett available on a free.
Bennett was once regarded as one of the best defensive prospects outside the Premier League, but he has not quite fulfilled his potential.

Celtic, currently, are not in any urgent need to sign a centre-back – but a move could do Bennett the world of good.
And bringing Bennett on a free transfer may be an opportunity that Rodgers finds too good to turn down.
