West Bromwich Albion will reportedly be fielding offers for several of their key players in the summer should they be relegated from the Premier League.

Unless one of the most incredible great escapes happen during the final nine games of the season, it appears almost nailed on that West Brom will be playing Championship football next season, and that may mean having to put a drastically different squad together.

According to The Sun, the likes of Jonny Evans, Ben Foster, Jay Rodriguez and Craig Dawson are all set to attract attention should the Baggies be relegated – which is looking to be something of a formality now with Alan Pardew’s men eight points off safety and boasting just one league win since the second weekend of the season.

While West Brom look set to go down without much of a fight, there are certainly some good players in that squad and perhaps Celtic should be one of the teams looking to capitalise if they are relegated.

The likes of Evans, Foster and Rodriguez may not be attainable for the Hoops, but perhaps they should try their luck for Dawson given the positions that have proven to be particularly problematic for the Bhoys this season.

Dawson is arguably underrated by many. Even when West Brom lose, he is one of the players who tends to be praised by the supporters as he seems to get his job done with minimal fuss and rarely does he allow a mistake to creep into his game.

Celtic Manager Brendan Rodgers celebrates during the William Hill Scottish Cup Final between Celtic and Aberdeen at Hampden Park on May 27, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

With Brendan Rodgers’ defence looking particularly shaky at times this season, perhaps Celtic should consider a bid for Dawson as he would surely address those problems.

Celtic look particularly vulnerable at right-back right now with Mikael Lustig looking to be past his best, while they have also struggled to put together the kind of centre-back partnership that would intimidate opposition forwards.

Dawson is capable of playing on the right or in the middle and would provide that reliability that Celtic need in those areas, so the Hoops should undoubtedly make a bid.

It may not be the most exciting deal the Hoops pull off this summer if they did make a move, but it would certainly be one of the smartest.
