Should Celtic go after Hull City’s Abel Hernandez?

It doesn’t take a genius to work out that Celtic will more than likely be signing a striker this summer.
Despite a disappointing season in comparison to his last, Moussa Dembele is expected to leave Parkhead and Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers will certainly need a replacement.
The former Liverpool manager once tried to sign Abel Hernandez for Liverpool [Mirror] and, considering that the Hull City hitman is free this summer, should Rodgers bring him to Glasgow?

The 27-year-old hasn’t quite justified the hype following his club-record £10 million move to Hull almost four years ago, but seven goals in seven Championship starts this season indicates that he remains a very good goalscorer at that level – and might be an even better one up North.
The Uruguayan marksman has spent most of the season out injured, but at 27, Celtic could secure his prime years as a striker and if Rodgers is looking for a bargain, will he find a better one this summer? Probably not.
He is a failed Premier League player, but that doesn’t mean he wouldn’t be a roaring success in the Scottish Premiership and if the former Reds boss really wanted him on Merseyside, another move makes sense.
