Charly Musonda was an unused substitution today in Celtic’s draw at Motherwell.

It’s probably fair to say that Charly Musonda hasn’t enjoyed a rip-roaring start to life at Celtic.
The Chelsea winger joined Celtic on loan in January but, despite the hype surrounding his arrival, the Belgian hasn’t impressed under Brendan Rodgers as of yet. In fact, he hasn’t been given many chances.
The 21-year-old, who has started three games for the Hoops in all competitions, was an unused substitution today as Rodgers’s side drew 0-0 away at Motherwell.
BBC pundit Tam McManus claimed on Twitter that Musonda represents a “monumental waste of money” and you wonder whether Celtic fans might be worried about the youngster.

The fact that Rodgers didn’t turn to him when his side needed a goal, opting for an out-of-form Scott Sinclair and a Patrick Roberts who hadn’t kicked a ball since November before today, might be seen as an indication that the Northern Irishman doesn’t fully believe in him.
It’s worth noting that he remains very young, and has another 16 months to go on his loan deal. There is plenty of time for him to become a major player for the Hoops, but it’s certainly an ominous start and you wonder whether Rodgers is convinced by him yet, despite being a long-time fan.
