After netting 27 goals in all competitions for Danish side Brondby last term, should Celtic look to re-sign Teemu Pukki?
Celtic should consider re-signing former striker Teemu Pukki, whose contract expires in the summer, following a 27-goal season in Denmark with Brondby.
The 54-time Finnish international played 37 games for Scottish champions Celtic between 2013 and 2015, but failed to live up to expectations at Celtic Park, scoring just 9 goals during his time in Scotland before joining Danish side Brondby.
Since making the move to Denmark, Pukki has rediscovered his form in front of goal, netting 50 goals in 109 games over three seasons, with 27 coming last season in the Finn’s best ever goalscoring season.
With Moussa Dembele, Scott Sinclair and Leigh Griffiths all struggling to recapture last season’s electric form this term, Pukki could be a solid addition to the squad in January as The Bhoys look to defend their title from challengers Aberdeen.
The former Schalke forward’s contract expires in the summer, therefore making him likely available for a reasonable fee in January, should the Scottish giants look to make a move.
This season hasn’t been quite as fruitful for the Finnish international, who has scored three league goals in his first 11 games, but with Brondby thriving at the top of the table, there is less of a reliance on Pukki’s goals than last term.
