Celtic need to sign back-up to Kieran Tierney sooner rather than later.

Celtic may have to consider signing a new left-back sooner rather than later to act as back-up to Kieran Tierney, and Derby County’s left-sided flyer Ikechi Anya could be perfect.
Turkish outlet Fanatik have claimed that Tierney’s current back-up Emilio Izaguirre is interesting Turkish side Goztepe. With a disappointing display against Aberdeen last time out, and his contract expiring at the end of the season, he could be away.
That would leave the Hoops without cover for Tierney, who is currently injured. Brendan Rodgers would be wise to scour the market for a suitable back-up that can also provide options elsewhere.
The Derby Telegraph claim Scotland international Anya is interesting Birmingham City after failing to make a single appearance under Frank Lampard this season.
Anya, 31, has clocked up 29 appearances for Scotland throughout his career, and has 18 months remaining on his contract at the Championship side under Lampard.
But what could prove crucial – other than providing cover to Tierney – is that he can also play on the left of attack and offer the Hoops both electrifying pace and an eye for goal.

In his 29 caps, he has scored three goals, as well as finding the back of the net eight times for Watford earlier in his career. His blistering speed would make him an excellent option for the Hoops in attack, as well as defence.
Replacing Izaguirre is a necessity, but also offering cover for the likes of Scott Sinclair would make Anya an excellent January signing for the Scottish champions.
