Should Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers drop James Forrest on Sunday?

James Forrest of Celtic celebrates his goal (Celtics 1st)with Stuart Armstrong during the Betfred Cup Final at Hampden Park on November 26, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Celtic host Rangers at Parkhead on Sunday, where a seventh successive Scottish Premiership title awaits.

The prospect of winning the league against their bitter Old Firm rivals doesn’t come along often and Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers must get his team selection absolutely spot-on.

With that in mind, you wonder if the Northern Irish boss could axe James Forrest this weekend.

Forrest has been a revelation for the Hoops this season, netting 16 goals in all competitions – including key strikes in finals and Champions League qualifiers.

But the 27-year-old winger hasn’t found the net in well over two months, since a hat-trick in the Scottish Cup win over Partick Thistle on February 10.

His dry spell is now 11 games in all competitions and, with Patrick Roberts finally fit again, is he a better option for Celtic this weekend?

Dropping Forrest was unthinkable before February, but his barren spell is only getting worse and maybe, just maybe, the Manchester City loanee may be the better option.
