Villarreal are the latest club to register an interest in Celtic’s Moussa Dembele.

Moussa Dembele of Celtic is seen during a training session at Lennoxtown on December 29, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Villarreal are, according to The Express, the latest club to come sniffing around Celtic striker Moussa Dembele.

The France Under-21 international might be coming toward the end of his two-year spell at Parkhead and will more than likely have a multitude of different options come this summer.

If he joins Villarreal then it’ll only be a £15 million deal according to The Express and it makes you wonder whether Celtic should make it a player-plus-cash arrangement instead.

One player who the Hoops could ask for to be included in the deal is Denis Cheryshev.

The 27-year-old attacker appears to be a bit-part player with the Primera Division side these days and Villarreal might be willing to offer him and cash in exchange for the Celtic star.

After all, Brendan Rodgers appears to be a fan after The Star reported that the former Liverpool boss once bid £15 million for the Russian winger some three years ago.

Charly Musonda has endured a tough start to life in Glasgow, while Scott Sinclair has had a very underwhelming second season after winning Player of the Year last term.

Signing a left-wing option makes sense for Celtic and a player-plus-cash arrangement for the former Real Madrid could represent an economic way of getting one.
