Rangers are keen on bringing promising striker Devante Cole to Ibrox. Should Celtic show interest too?

Cole is available on a pre-contract agreement with his current deal set to expire at the end of this season.
The last time a Glasgow side signed a striker in these circumstances it was Celtic, who moved for Moussa Dembele after his Fulham contract expired.
Dembele has been a huge hit at Celtic, scoring more than 40 goals in 18 months, and perhaps Celtic should consider getting involved in the chase for Devante Cole.

Cole is just 22, and is the son of Champions League winning striker Andy Cole.
He began his career with Manchester City and earned caps for England’s under-19 side, before electing to play lower league football to progress his career.
After scoring 12 goals for Fleetwood Town in League One already this season, interest is mounting in his signature, with Sheffield United among the clubs keen.

While Cole may not be the proven striker Celtic fans may want to take them forward in European competition, the young forward is a bright prospect who Brendan Rodgers can hope to really develop.
Celtic may have more patience with Cole than Rangers, who are more desperate for instant results, and have had a big turnover of players over the past three seasons.
Available for free, Cole might just be worth Celtic taking a punt on at Rangers’ expense.
