Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers and Scottish Premiership rivals Celtic should battle for on-loan Wolverhampton Wanderers star Leo Bonatini.

During the first half of the Championship season, Leo Bonatini was in rip-roaring form for Wolverhampton Wanderers.
From August until December, the Brazilian striker was spearheading Wolves’ Premier League promotion bid by grabbing 12 goals and five assists.
But bizarrely, Bonatini hasn’t scored or set up a goal in any of his last 19 games for Wanderers during what has been a remarkable dip in form. On loan from Al-Hilal, it seems unlikely that Wolves will be paying the £5 million needed to sign the 23-year-old on a permanent basis – but Old Firm rivals Celtic and Rangers should.
Celtic and Rangers both might need a new number nine this summer, with Moussa Dembele and Alfredo Morelos both linked with moves down South to English opposition, and although Bonatini’s form has dipped, his first few months proved that he can be an excellent goalscorer on these shores.

The reported £5 million price-tag (Birmingham Mail) isn’t exactly pocket change for either Scottish Premiership side, but Celtic could probably make the move happen without using the Dembele fund, while the Gers will certainly be getting a lot more than that if Morelos – linked to Championship clubs, and of course China – leaves Ibrox.
With Wolves bound for the Premier League, Bonatini looks like he might be dead weight in the top flight, but he could be a star North of the border and both Rangers and the Hoops should certainly keep an eye on him.
