Everton do not want Oumar Niasse so should Brighton or Huddersfield take a closer look?
Brighton manager Chris Hughton
The Liverpool Echo reports that Everton remain open to offers for Oumar Niasse, who has returned to Goodison Park after a loan spell with Hull City.
Signed from Lokomotiv Moscow by Roberto Martinez in the 2016 January transfer window, new manager Ronald Koeman did not deem the striker good enough after his appointment in the summer and demoted Niasse to the Under-23s without even giving him a squad number.
After six months of frustration the 27-year-old was given another chance in the Premier League in January with a loan move to Hull, where he scored five goals in 19 appearances.
The Tigers had the opportunity to sign Niasse permanently for £10m when that temporary deal ended, but chose not to take up the offer. So should newly promoted Brighton and Hove Albion or Huddersfield Town capitalise on that?
Huddersfield’s manager David Wagner
Both clubs are preparing for life in the top flight and need to bolster their squads accordingly and while the Senegal international is not exactly a star signing, he does have Premier League experience and has a solid scoring record from his time at Lokomotiv and Turkish outfit Akhisarspor.
Koeman clearly doesn’t see Niasse in his plans and could well accept a budget offer as a result and often gambling on out of favour players in the transfer market is the shrewd move that keeps promoted teams up.
