Rodgers has been linked with a move to Aston Villa.

Brendan Rodgers has been linked with a surprising move from Celtic to Aston Villa as the Championship side continue to look for a replacement after sacking Steve Bruce – and Rodgers could bring a Hoops player with him.
Rodgers is not the front runner to take over at Villa with the Championship club likely to be viewed as somewhat below the kind of calibre of club he is capable of achieving when he does finally leave Celtic.
Indeed, the former Liverpool boss was linked with the Arsenal job in the summer after Arsene Wenger stepped down, only for Unai Emery to take over at the Emirates Stadium.
Nevertheless, the ambitious Villa board are interested in hiring a big name and Rodgers remains in the mix alongside the likes of Thierry Henry, John Terry, Eddie Howe and Rui Faria.
With Rodgers still firmly in the running, he could look to his Celtic side for reinforcements at Villa if indeed he does make the move south and Scott Sinclair would likely be his first port of call.
The 29-year-old attacker is currently out of favour on Parkhead, though he did score an excellent winner against Aberdeen in a 1-0 win earlier this month – finding the back of the net with a backheel.
Sinclair first joined Villa in January 2015 on loan from Manchester City before making that deal permanent in the summer, but only lasted another year at Villa Park. He scored nine goals in 45 appearances.

But if Rodgers is to make the journey south, Sinclair’s past at Villa and experience of winning promotion from the Championship under Rodgers at Swansea would prove invaluable in their hunt for the top flight.
Sinclair has two years remaining on the four-year deal he signed when Rodgers convinced him to try Celtic in 2016 – worth £25,000 a week (Daily Star) – but Villa are certainly able to afford a transfer fee and wages for Sinclair.
Re-signing the attacker and giving him another chance in the club’s promotion hunt would be an excellent first signing for Rodgers if indeed the Celtic manager decides that enough is enough at Celtic and returns to English football.
