Everton’s Aiden McGeady spent six years at Celtic between 2004 and 2010, and impressed with the Glasgow side.
According to the Daily Record, Celtic missed out on signing Aiden McGeady back in 2016 due to his wage demands.
Celtic were keen on a reunion with the Everton winger, but could not afford to match his salary at Goodison Park.
At that stage, McGeady was not prepared to sacrifice his wages to move away from Everton.

However, the Republic of Ireland international has recently suggested that he would be prepared to reduce his wage demands this summer to move to Preston North End.
“I would like to come back to Preston – if it was between here and another team who were going to pay me slightly more money, I would rather come here,” he said to the Lancashire Evening Times.
McGeady’s loan move to Preston this term has been a huge success, as the winger has returned to his very best this season.

The 31-year-old has become one of the most threatening players in the Championship, with his confidence returning.
On his day, McGeady can single handedly win matches, as he possesses such vast amounts of skill.
And Celtic fans know all about McGeady’s quality, when he is on the top of his game.
The attacker spent the best years of his career at Celtic, between 2004 and 2010, before moving to Spartak Moscow.
McGeady’s offer to Preston – of reducing his terms to sign for a club where he knows he enjoys playing football – could well stand for Celtic too.
And a return to Glasgow for McGeady could suit all parties, as Celtic look to add further depth to their attacking options for next season.
