Keiren Westwood of Sheffield Wednesday celebrates at the end of the game
Brendan Rodgers is now back in football management after recently being appointed the new Celtic boss.
The former Liverpool manager is now set to make moves in the transfer market to put his own stamp on the club.
So should he look to bring in a player that he tried to bring to Liverpool in January 2015?

The player in question is Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Keiren Westwood. The Republic of Ireland international is currently being linked with a move away from Wednesday after The Owls failed to win promotion to the Premier League.
He has been one of the most impressive stoppers in the Football League for some time now and in January last year he rejected the chance to play for Liverpool, as reported by The Mirror.

Of course many a Celtic fan will feel the club do not need another keeper and they certainly do need to prioritise the strengthening of other areas first.
But if Westwood is available he is an option that Celtic cannot simply ignore. Craig Gordon is a great goalkeeper but lacks quality competition for the number one spot. Westwood, a former team-mate of Gordon’s at Sunderland, is two years his junior and Gordon did struggle for form at times last season.

A battle with Westwood could refocus his energy and Celtic will then be in the privileged position of having two top-class hungry goalkeepers ahead of an important domestic and European campaign.
