Vegard Forren celebrates scoring the second goal for Molde
Yesterday saw Championship promotion candidates Brighton and Hove Albion complete the free transfer signature of Norwegian international Vegard Forren.
The 28-year-old was a free agent after leaving former club Molde in February and will now strengthen the options for Chris Hughton at the Amex.
But should Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers have revisited his previous interest in the player?
Celtic fans will remember Forren well, he scored as Molde sent Celtic packing in the Champions League back in 2015.
Rodgers knows him as well – He even thought about signing him.
Prior to a dreadful stint at Southampton the Norwegian was all set to go on trial at Liverpool.
As reported by the BBC at the time the Norwegian international was handed a one week’s trial at Liverpool with Rodgers interested in signing the highly-rated central defender.
But the next day Southampton made a bid to sign him, and he left Liverpool without getting the chance to impress Rodgers.

Celtic currently have Erik Sviatchenko and Jozo Simunovic playing well at centre-back, with Dedryck Boyata and able back-up. But Kolo Toure is 35-years-old and Celtic might have done well to bring Forren in given his quality and price-tag.
Rodgers was not left regretting missing out on Forren last time. He will hope he does not regret returning for his services on this occasion.
