Aston Villa are expected to be extremely busy during the summer transfer window.
Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce
Villa boss Steve Bruce will have his work cut-out next season, if he is to guide his side back to the Premier League.
After a whole host of poor signings during the summer of 2016, which Bruce himself obviously had no part in, the Villa squad is unbalanced and bereft of the required quality needed to gain promotion to the top flight.
The Villa boss will have to target players with the specific attributes needed to take his side to another level, and one area in particular that he needs to improve is central midfield.
Whilst the Villans have some solid midfield players, they do lack a player who can dictate the tempo of the game from deep, and Bruce should consider signing Hull City star Tom Huddlestone to help fill that void.
The former Tigers chief signed the midfielder when he was in charge of the Humberside outfit back in 2013, so he is obviously a big fan of his qualities.
The 30-year-old is an exceptional passer of the football, and the manner in which he can link defence with attack really could take Villa to another level.
The Midlands club are still considered to be an attractive proposition for potential signings, but their hopes of convincing the former Tottenham Hotspur man to join them would greatly increase if Hull fail to retain their Premier League status.

His contract at the KCOM Stadium only has 14 months left to run, however, so Marco Silva maybe tempted into selling, if Villa offer a substantial amount.
And they should pay whatever it takes to bring the classy midfielder to Villa Park in the summer, if they have genuine ambitions of bringing Premier League football back to the club.
Villa fans have been seriously underwhelmed with the majority of new arrivals at the club over the past 12 months, but the prospect of Huddlestone lining up alongside Mile Jedinak at the base of their midfield will surely be a tantalising one for them.
