Aston Villa are said to be on the look out for a young Premier League forward this summer.

According to a report in the Birmingham Mail, Aston Villa could look to sign a young Premier League striker on loan this summer – but they may already have missed out on their ideal target.

Villa are aiming to bolster their forward ranks by bringing in a striker from the top tier.

And if that is Steve Bruce’s plan, then Villa may regret not snapping up Newcastle United’s Adam Armstrong while they had the chance.

Armstrong was loaned out by Newcastle to Bolton Wanderers earlier this summer.

And the 19-year-old forward could be a great addition for Bolton over the campaign.

Armstrong spent time on loan at Barnsley last season, and he appears ready to take the Championship by storm now.

The youngster showed flashes of quality while with Barnsley, although his return of six goals was not particularly eye catching.

However, with a year’s experience under his belt, Armstrong should be ready to lead the line for Bolton this year.

And with Villa looking for Premier League youngsters it is tough to see them finding too many better options than Armstrong now.
