A report has suggested that West Bromwich Albion want to sell Callum McManaman, so perhaps Aston Villa should consider a swoop.

A recent report from the Express and Star has suggested that West Brom are ready to sell winger Callum McManaman following his disappointing spell at the Hawthorns, so perhaps Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce should consider making a move.

Villa have been incredibly inconsistent this season, only briefly threatening to be play-off contenders, so their first summer since Bruce took charge will be crucial as he aims to build upon some of the promise they have shown.

McManaman meanwhile, is heading for the Hawthorns exit if West Brom can find a buyer, according to the Express and Star, and has only shown brief glimpses of quality during his loan spell with Sheffield Wednesday thus far.

Though Villa fans may not be too excited about the prospect of signing the 26-year-old given his recent form, he would arguably be a decent addition for a couple of reasons.

Firstly, with the winger unwanted by his parent club and having just one year left on his contract (via Express and Star), he may perhaps be available for a small fee, thus leaving plenty of funds for Bruce to address more pressing concerns within the squad.

And with Bruce being the man who handed the youngster his first-team debut when he was in charge at Wigan back in 2009, he may see something in McManaman that gives him the confidence to believe that the wide-man could be the kind of addition who would boost their promotion hopes next season.
